ISLAND Wai Artesian Water

"Wai" is Fijian for "water". Water is essential to life.

ISLAND Wai is harnessing its unique and scarce natural resource that will ultimately sustainably support its effort to improve the lives of those in Fiji and throughout the world. Learn more about "The way water should be" campaign.

Our Founder, Mr. John Thomson and family, were some of the first European Settlers in Fiji and have remained devoted to Fiji and all Fiji Islanders. Our Mission at ISLAND Wai is to mobilize the most premium of commodities in Fiji, pristine artesian aquifer water, and in exchange, change the lives of Fijians and their communities, forever.

  • Step /
    1

    the Evaporation to the Clouds

The oceans in the South Pacific evaporate and turn into clouds which accumulate and drop rain daily over the highlands in Viti Levu.

  • Step /
    2

    the Rainfall and Filtration

In Fiji, nearly every day there are tropical rains in the mountains. This rain water finds its way into the mouth of the geo-protected aquifers which flow through pre-historic volcanic rock, downhill towards the ocean. Through this process, volcanic rocks and substructures of the island add natural minerals into the pure rain water. Century's later the water is ready to be recovered.

  • Step /
    3

    the Product

ISLAND Wai is then recovered and bottled at source from 150 feet below grade, directly into our bottles. With only a slight amount of particulates that are filtered, ISLAND Wai water has no additives. Mother Nature has created the perfect combination of minerals and flavor.

  • Step /
    4

    the Community

Through our constant outreach with the local community we will use company profits and influence to improve the health, education and welfare of our Fijian community. As ISLAND Wai grows, this community connection will grow world-wide.

  • Step /
    5

    the Circle is Complete

ISLAND Wai's exclusive artesian aquifer regenerates through this nature process, at a highly sustainable rate, every day, year after year. ISLAND Wai brings community and a new pristine water product for the world, harnessing a process Mother Nature started.

Artesian Water

ISLAND Wai is 100% bottled at source from one of the last remaining virgin eco- systems on the planet, superior water content and taste go hand in hand. ISLAND Wai water is naturally and organically filtered and enriched with healthy minerals through miles of natural underground prehistoric volcanic filters. Through a long encountered journey, rain water penetrates the rain forest covered mountains, yielding natural and organic filtered water. In time, the water ends in the Meigunyah Aquifer, a massive underground water source in the Nadi Highlands, on the island of Viti Levu, in the Fijian islands of the South Pacific. The raw water is then filtered to eliminate any particles above 0.2 microns (5 times smaller than the industry standard of 1 micron) and then is ozonated to avoid chemical sterilization before bottling at the source.

"From one of the last remaining virgin eco-systems on the planet."

RESPONSIBLE COMMUNITY.

Our Vision

Fact: More than 25% of Fijians live below the poverty level.

Fact: Fiji’s purchasing power ranks near the bottom; 137 out of 163 countries.

Fact: Although Fiji sits on some of the most abundant and cleanest natural water in the world nearly half the people of Fiji do not have access to clean drinking water. And perhaps the saddest fact of all is that the sad reality of Fiji life doesn’t have to be that way. It is correctable in the short term and sustainable for the future.

To this end, ISLAND Wai is presenting a plan for the revitalization of Fiji’s economic, environmental and health needs, driven by the economics of ISLAND Wai’s bottled water production/sales. Specifically, ISLAND Wai has recently partnered with One Globe Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit public benefit organization, to implement a proven and intelligent fiscal sponsorship program. This sponsorship model currently serves over 2 million people, supports more than 300 communities worldwide and has attracted major supporters including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.  The program aims to support three key areas of need in Fiji: Education, Healthcare, and Sustainable Infrastructure. ISLAND Wai will essentially become the economic catalyst that will provide resources to key venture-philanthropic programs throughout the islands. The outreach efforts become stand-alone enterprises — An innovative piece of the One Globe model.
